Wade House Road, Shelf, West Yorkshire

STEN Architecture worked for Barratt David Wilson Homes West Yorkshire to produce a high quality design solution including a full set of planning drawings. The site is characterised by the steep slopes found in much of the Calderdale region. The design responds to this cue and new homeowners benefit from long distance views. The layout is defined by a series of character areas each with specific principles and arrangements influenced by the West Yorkshire vernacular. The result is a characterful and identifiable neighbourhood that integrates with established residential development in the vicinity. STEN Architecture also produced a Self Build Design Code for a parcel of homes to the south-west of the development.
