Will Richmond
Trainee Architectural Technician
Will has completed a T Level in Design, Surveying, and Planning and, in 2025, began his Construction Design and Build Technician apprenticeship at Leeds College of Building, gaining both academic knowledge and practical experience. Through his T Level qualification, he developed skills in project management, surveying, and technical design. His industry placement at STEN allowed him to shadow professionals across multiple disciplines and use CAD software to a high standard, producing detailed drawings and building models. His performance during this placement was recognised with a Commendation for Exemplary Work Placement, awarded by Leeds College of Building at The BIG Awards ceremony, highlighting his professionalism, technical competence, and strong work ethic. These experiences have given him a realistic insight into the construction and design industry and confirmed his commitment to a career in the built environment.
Outside of work, Will is a keen golfer, regularly attends the gym, and works part-time as a barman, demonstrating strong time management, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. He is eager to continue developing his knowledge of sustainable design, modern methods of construction, and the creative processes behind architectural projects.
Will’s long-term goal is to contribute to innovative, environmentally conscious designs that improve the quality of life for the people who use them. He believes that through STEN, he can combine his technical ability, creativity, and passion for architecture to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the built environment.
