With Stuart, Ben and Simon's extensive experience and a range of successfully completed projects STEN Architecture can offer a wide variety of professional services that can help and assist clients from the very early stages of a project through to completion on site. Our main services are:

  • Whether it be a site that requires a greenfield bid or a contentious conservation area assessment, we can offer a thorough site appraisal service that includes a feasibility sketch layout, detailed schedules of accommodation, density calculations and land coverage. We cover all residential sites, mixed use schemes, industrial developments and business parks amongst others.
  • Using our extensive experience of working for volume house builders, land owners, one off clients, and working closely with other consultants and Local Authorities, we can offer a unparalleled insight into the masterplanning of sites. Whether it be illustrative material for outline applications, or detailed masterplans for a full application, we can offer a thorough professional service.
  • Having a combined experience of over 25 years working in residential architecture STEN are uniquely qualified to be able to deliver residential layouts. Ranging from small in-fill sites to high quality larger scale developments.
  • We offer a service to promote land through the LDF system, whether it be purely the illustrative material or the complete promotion document. Using our experience of the promotion procedure we can highlight the attributes that make a site attractive to the local authority, demonstrate the strengths of a site and promote it in the best possible light.
  • Using our experience with commercially successful Mixed-Use schemes, we can ensure the delivery of developments that have a range of uses that are appealing not just to the developer, but the local community and the Local Authority. Be it Residential, Office, Hotel, Extra Care Homes, Medical Centres or Schools to name but a few, we can offer that insight into what will make a successful Mixed-Use Scheme.
  • Gone are the days where a Planning Application was just a few forms to fill in and some plans / elevations. There is now a raft of information that is required for an application to be validated and then ultimately determined. We can offer our experience of this and alongside other consultants guide clients through the process.
  • These documents are the key that unlocks the design. Whether it is a straightforward dwelling or a large mixed use development, the Design and Access Statement is the document that sells the concepts and the design to the Local Authority, members of the Public and Elected Officials. We can offer this document as part of the Planning service, or as a standalone piece of work.
  • In many circumstances a bespoke approach is required to a site and STEN have the knowledge and expertise to be able to produce good quality design. Whether it is a single bespoke dwelling or a large apartment scheme Stuart and Ben have years of experience and a number of successful projects under their belt to be able to deliver a truly great design.
  • If you are thinking of embarking on a house extension, conversion or refurbishment project it can be a very daunting prospect. We have the experience and knowledge of this type of project and so will be able to assist you every step of the way from the initial discussions, design process, planning process, finding a good builder, etc.
  • These are something that will be required by solicitors to be able sell / exchange on properties whether it is a single dwellings, office park or entire development we can produce accurate legal plans (Title Plans) using the latest drafting software.
  • Once we have gained planning consent for our client our services don't stop there. We have extensive experience in producing production drawing (Building Regulation drawings) and can also coordinate the building regulation application with one of our recommended building control companies. We can even tender the work for you and find you a good, competitively priced builder to complete the works including on site supervision meaning that you have a hassle free process through to completion of your project.
  • To be able to really sell the scheme to the outside world and potential purchasers, high quality images or brochures can do this. We can produce perspective views of developments including the key character areas, frontages to developments, etc. We can also create 'glossy' sales brochures which would include colour site plans, house type drawings and perspective views.
